I can’t begin to tell you how many calls I receive from clients sharing they have a stain that they need me to come out and take of for them. At this point of the call, I have to pause and provide with my clients with this one simple definition of what a stain is versus a spot. A spot I can get out, most often times, even the most stubborn spot. A stain, well, it’s a stain – it’s not coming out no matter what product I might try to use on it.
Next question I have to ask when we’ve resolved we have a spot is this – what products have you already used to try and remove the spot? I’m never surprised to hear they’ve tried two, maybe three different products. At this point I have to advise them to STOP! Many products on the market will actually set the spot and make it harder to get out or in some cases, discolor or stain the carpet permanently.
